Protective Stones Across Different Cultures
In ancient cultures around the world, Black Tourmaline has long been regarded as a powerful protective stone, believed to shield its bearer from evil spirits and negative energies. According to legend, the ancient Greeks referred to Black Tourmaline as the "Stone of Chaos," believing it could bring order and tranquility from chaos.
In Indian folklore, Black Tourmaline was seen as the "Gem of the Night," protecting night travelers from evil spirits and negative energy during the dark hours. Even today, many Indian yogis use Black Tourmaline to balance the root chakra, providing them with stability and protection.
The "Absorber" of Negative Energy
Unlike most crystals that radiate energy outward, Black Tourmaline is renowned for its powerful ability to absorb and neutralize negative energy in its surroundings. It can extract disruptive energy from both the user and the environment, reducing the accumulation of negative emotions and thoughts, resulting in a more stable and harmonious emotional state. Although Black Tourmaline is highly effective in absorbing negative energy, its capacity is not limitless. Once saturated, its effectiveness diminishes, making regular cleansing especially important. Sunlight cleansing is particularly suitable for this crystal.
