Agate Egg
Weight: 518g
Agate is a translucent microcrystalline variety of quartz, belonging to the large quartz family and known for its rich diversity of colors. The name originates from the ancient Greek word "achates," which is said to be the name of a river (possibly today's Drillo River), where the oldest agates were reportedly discovered.
Agate has a long history and deep cultural significance. In ancient Greece and Rome, agate was used as an amulet and daily object, believed to protect its wearer from evil spirits and bring good luck.
In Persian culture, agate was considered a stone that brought strength and success. Persian warriors would wear agate jewelry during battles, believing it would protect them in war.
During the Renaissance in Europe, agate was also highly popular among royalty and nobility, who collected and used intricately carved agate vessels, symbolizing status, health, and strength.
