The Characteristics and Applications of Lemurian Quartz

Lemurian Quartz is deeply connected to the legend of the lost Lemurian civilization. Lemuria was an ancient civilization believed to have vanished, but at its peak, the Lemurians were said to possess great spiritual wisdom and higher levels of consciousness than modern humans. Crystals are known to store and amplify intentions, and according to legend, the Lemurians used a unique type of crystal to preserve their knowledge during a large-scale migration caused by natural disasters or other reasons. The goal was to pass down their wisdom to future generations. Lemurian Quartz was first discovered in Brazil in the late 1990s, but interestingly, unlike nearby clear quartz clusters, Lemurian Quartz appeared scattered individually across the mining area, raising questions about whether this was truly its first unearthing.

Characteristics of Lemurian Quartz:

1. Growth Lines:
   Most natural Lemurian Quartz crystals display horizontal striations on their surface. While these growth lines can appear on other types of crystals, they help crystal enthusiasts identify unpolished, natural Lemurian Quartz from polished specimens.

2. At Least One Narrow Side:
   Lemurian Quartz always has at least one side (sometimes up to three) that is noticeably narrower than the others. These narrow sides may vary in shape—rectangular, trapezoidal, or even nearly zero-width. To better understand these variations, please refer to the images on page four of our gallery. The two adjacent sides of these narrow faces are typically wider to accommodate this shape.

3. One Side Extending to the Tip:
   Typically, on the side opposite the narrow face, one of the wider sides extends all the way to the tip of the crystal, or at least reaches higher than the adjacent faces. This feature is unique to Lemurian Quartz, as most regular crystals require two faces to meet at the tip. We’ve collected several examples, which you can see on page five of our gallery.

Crystals with both of these features qualify as Lemurian Quartz.

Uses of Lemurian Quartz:

1. Spiritual and Wisdom Enhancement:
   Lemurian Quartz is believed to carry ancient knowledge and wisdom. Some individuals report seeing clear visions and messages during meditation with Lemurian Quartz, helping with spiritual growth. However, it's important not to expect specific outcomes when using the crystal. In many cases, while users may not experience vivid imagery, they often find their thoughts clearer and discover new insights or solutions to current challenges. The stored wisdom in Lemurian Quartz may not always manifest as concrete information but instead as a higher level of thinking and problem-solving.

2. Healing Properties of the Base Crystal:
   Despite its unique shape, Lemurian Quartz retains the healing properties of its base crystal, usually clear quartz or smoky quartz. Thus, you can use Lemurian Quartz for the same healing purposes as these base crystals.

3. Crystal Grid Activation:
   Due to its tapered shape, Lemurian Quartz has excellent energy-focusing properties. When creating a crystal grid, you can use Lemurian Quartz to trace the shape of the grid while visualizing its purpose, effectively linking and activating all the crystals in the formation.

4. Energy Cord Cutting:
   The focused energy of Lemurian Quartz also makes it suitable for energy cord-cutting rituals. Visualize the connections between yourself and negative influences, people, or situations being severed by the focused energy of the crystal, helping protect your energy field and reduce energy drains.

5. Aura Surgery:
   Lemurian Quartz is often referred to as the "surgical tool" of the crystal world. Its energy can be used to open small gaps in the aura, allowing stagnant negative energy to be released or positive energy to be infused. However, this technique requires a high level of visualization, energy control, and intention, so it’s not recommended for those without training to avoid unintended consequences.
