Labradorite, also known as the "Stone of Spectra," is famous for its aurora-like iridescent effect. Many customers, upon first hearing the name, wonder if the stone is related to the action of "stretching". In fact, its name comes from the Labrador region of Canada, where it was first discovered. Being part of the feldspar family, the name "Labradorite" combines the region's name with its mineral family.

The colorful reflections of Labradorite are a result of its internal Labradorescence, caused by multiple layers of thin structures within the stone.
