HISTORICAL BACKGROUND

The name of Kunzite comes from American gemologist George Frederick Kunz, who was the first to showcase and introduce this beautiful stone to the world. In recognition of his contributions to the gemstone community, Kunzite was named in his honor.

Kunzite is characterized by its soft lavender color and belongs to the Spodumene family, featuring linear striations and its unique hue derived from lithium. The deeper-colored Kunzite crystals are more sought after, and when paired with transparency, they are considered premium specimens.

Kunzite was first discovered in 1902 in California, USA, making it a relatively recently discovered stone. As such, it lacks the rich folklore and historical tales associated with other crystals. Due to its calming color and yin energy, Kunzite is known as the “Stone of Women” in the healing community, as it is believed to enhance feminine energy, love, and emotional balance.
