HISTORICAL BACKGROUND

Vivianite was discovered and announced by British mineralogist John Henry Vivian in the 19th century, and the mineral was named after him. This unique crystal is initially colorless or light blue when freshly unearthed, but as it is exposed to light or air, it gradually deepens to a darker blue or green hue, which is the state we commonly see.

Vivianite is often found in peat bogs or marshy areas, particularly near the remains of plants and animals. This is because the mineral forms through interaction with organic matter.
